Does seroquel cause hair loss, Supriya Jindal, Louisiana's first lady, learned Tuesday about the dreams and goals of a group of Rapides Parish elementary school children.

There were future lawyers, nurses, teachers, soldiers and governors -- and even a future president -- in the crowd of youngsters attentively listening fo Jindal's advice.

"I want you to work hard and do everything possible to study and to do well in school," she told the children.

Jindal was visiting Mabel Brasher Elementary School in Alexandria as part of a statewide tour to highlight the important roles math and science play in the pursuit of any career.

Prior to coming to Alexandria, she visited children in Monroe and Shreveport to deliver the message, she said.

Math and science are very important, she said, "so I like to come in and talk with them on how it does play an important role" in everyday life.

Jindal, who is a chemical engineer, said a study shows that many students are interested in math and science early in life but lose interest between the third and sixth grades.

There is some perception that these subjects aren't "cool," she said.

During her visit, Jindal gave the children "Believe in Louisiana," coloring books, pencils and trading cards, and encouraged them to read.
